Obituary for Paul Baker Lorraine Davies’s husband Paul Baker lost his 15 year battle with cancer on the 27th of March. Paul and Lorraine had a storming season with their ex Trotter Lakeside Warrior in 2009, culminating in a magnificent 2nd at the National Championships at Windsor. Pauls’ dedication and love for their animals was second to none. The shear amount of work that it took to take a top class trotter, transform him into an eventer good enough to cover them all in rosettes at the National Championships, will be a lasting source of pride to Lorraine and inspiration to all those that knew them. Paul was a man of few words, more an action man, but when he did speak, it was worth the wait. As a very talented cabinet maker and carpenter, Shropshire is littered with monuments to him, his lovely oak frame buildings are set to last for generations to come. What more can you ask of a life – Paul was a gentle creative and positive man who always put his animals welfare first. With Lorraine sorting the detail and Paul in action man mode, the driving world has lost a formidable team. |
