Carriage Driving arrives at Chadsgrove School and
Specialist Sports College.

Two pupils per week attend carriage driving sessions at Stourport Riding Centre (SRC). The activity takes part at the same time as RDA Riding Sessions. 3-week mini sessions are offered to allow a larger number of pupils to take part.
The pupils have named the group ‘The Horse Wheelers’. Pupils have a great time and enjoy the experience of travelling in purpose built carriages.
The pupils have a wide variety of special needs and many of them enjoy the sensation of movement and sound, and others are learning to use verbal commands. (Samson the little grey is very good at understanding different types of sounds.) We hope that others will go on to take the reins and be able to drive.
We are now looking to find a band of volunteers to support these pupils. It takes FOUR able bodied adults for one session of driving.
A big thanks to Sandy Blakeway-Smith who has been supporting us since September.
We are at SRC on Mondays 12.30 to 1.30pm, weather permitting, if you’d like to come and see us in action.

All involved with Horse Wheelers would like to give a big thank you
to Tony Bache for his time and commitment to our project.

Sandra Philips (please phone 01299 250508 if YOU may be able to help)
